Chessington Park Surgery Patient Participation Group (PPG)
Chessington Park Surgery has a lively Patient Participation Group. The aims of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) are as follows:
- To encourage a positive relationship between the patients and the surgery staff, both medical and administrative
- To organise information sessions on medical and related topics of interest to patients
- To help with the organisation of self help groups for patients
- To help raise funds for the purchase of extra equipment requested by the professional medical team
The PPG is run by a small committee of patients and practice staff and is essentially whatever the patients would like it to be. The group is linked with the PPG of Hook Surgery. Together we form the Merritt Medical Centre PPG. The group is affiliated to NAPP, the National Association of Patient Participation. We are always keen to hear from patients who would be willing to devote a little time to helping the PPG – either as a committee member, or with the organisation and running of events, or have ideas for information sessions and events.
The PPG is NOT, however, a channel for complaints. (There is a system in place for dealing with any complaints you may have, details of which can be obtained from the surgery and is also outlined on this website.)
Details of events organised by the PPG will be displayed on the practice notice board, the PPG notice board in the Patient Resources Room, or ask at Reception for more details.
We also produce a newsletter every two months – Merritt Matters. Copies of the current edition are available from the reception desks of both surgeries. In August we launched the PPG website. This is separate from those of the two surgeries. The address for the PPG website is www.merrittmedicalcentreppg.org.uk
If you are interested in taking part in our group, or would like more information about anything we do please contact us at merrittppg@yahoo.co.uk or telephone the surgery.
