Patient Participation Group

The Aims of the Patient Participation Group

The Merritt Medical Centre Patients Participation Group is run by a small committee of patients and practice staff from both Chessington Park and Hook surgeries. The group works with the Practice Medical Centre Team to promote the highest possible standard of medical care by;

  • Encouraging a positive relationship and clear communication between the patients and the surgery staff, both medical and administrative.
  • Organising information sessions on topics of interest to patients.
  • Helping to promote access to self help groups for patients.
  • Assisting the practice to promote a wider awareness of services available at the medical centre and within the NHS.

The group is affiliated to NAPP, the National Association of Patient Participation.

The PPG is very keen to gain patient views and to develop information sessions that are relevant to all Merritt Centre patients.

Group meetings are held regularly and open meetings will be held twice a year in the Merrit Centre Practice Patient Information room, with meetings starting at 6.30 p.m. The dates of forthcoming meetings, Agenda and Minutes of each meeting are posted on the PPG notice board in the waiting room and on the PPG drop down bar of the practice website.

Membership of the group is open and free of charge to all patients and staff of the Practice. The group is keen for new members to join and if interested, please ask for further details at reception.

Getting Your View

The group would like to contact patients on occasion by email and/or text so that they can obtain the views of the widest group of patients possible. We would like to obtain your email address and mobile phone number to do this. Please complete the Patient Contact Form to provide your consent for this.
